I've found myself in Jinan, Capitol of the Shandong province of China. I have some love for China: the language, the culture, and its people. But I have no love for this city. It is an industrial center stuck in the mountains trapping the pollution in. The air often constipated, unable to release the burden of its waste. There is nothing particularly special about its culture (at least not more so than any other Chinese city).
And I knew this coming here, for I have been here before.
It's funny the places that love brings you,
And how one little girl
Can make so dismal a place
Half-way around the world
More beautiful than the most pristine imagination.

I am honored that you and others felt it so worthy.
